About
I'm Marcia and I'd be happy to meet with you and provide a dedicated space for you to connect, heal, and thrive. When you meet with me, you can expect to feel welcomed, safe, and accepted.
As a Registered Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in mental health, I bring both professional expertise and genuine care to our work together. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary (2007) and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria (2001). Additionally, I am committed to ongoing learning and have taken many post-graduate trainings, including training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
I am dedicated to offering genuine and compassionate counselling that is tailored to your goals. I offer a holistic approach grounded in mind-body connection. I provide a safe space in which to explore your emotions and experiences, find ways to soothe emotional distress, build self-compassion and understanding, work through and heal from trauma, and thrive in your life, work, and relationships.
In my time to recharge and have fun, I love to spend time with my family, hike in the mountains, listen to audiobooks, garden, practice yoga, and go for bike rides.
Healing starts with connection. A space where you can feel safe and supported. A space that offers guidance to help you reclaim a connection within all parts of yourself...with curiosity, interest, and warmth. A space where there is no judgment and where you are fully accepted. Together, this is the space we cultivate. In this space, you can find deeper connection, lasting healing, and take steps to thrive in your life.
"To be seen, to be understood, to be held in someone's mind and heart, and to know that we matter are the foundation stones for our well-being"
